debut album from overlooked la post-hardcore four-piece before they suffered the fate of being signed to a major label too soon. filled with nihilistic musings on excess, drugs, romance and death that only being a product of los angeles can create. beautifully violent vocals and lyrics undercut by melodic shredding, abrupt and jarring rhythmic changes and impeccable drumming, all of which takes its cues from much more than simply hardcore punk.

p.s. there was another self-titled album by the bronx released in 2006 by island records. this is not the same thing (literally or figuratively). fuck that shit.
