Anyfuckingways, last summer I stumbled down the stairwell at an East Village divebar, and into its dungeon of a basement to discover Brooklyn trio Class Actress playing deliciously-vintage synth beats before an awestruck ‘crowd’ (if a dozen hipster-types really constitute a ‘crowd’). Singer-songwriter Elizabeth Harper vamped me right out of my pants with her romantic, indulgently-melancholy vocals and her electric stage performance.
Pour yourself a tall glass of bourbon, turn off the lights, and get your dance on.
